Growing Works

Growing Works provides a range of outdoors activities and helps people develop skills which may be useful when gardening or camping. Activities may include bushcraft, nature craft, gardening and cooking. In addition to the sessions listed below, there are occasional additional sessions.

The following sessions take place at Wakefield Road Allotments,
Dalton

  • Disabled adults: Tuesdays and Thursdays 10:30am-12:30pm. The first Thursday of the month includes Mindful Making.
  • Adult bushcraft course:s
  • Young Shoots Campfire Cooking Courses for young people aged 13 or older who require additional support and their siblings

In Dewsbury, there are Spprout sessions for families of people with additional needs. The first session is free, then a £5 donation is requested per session.

Sprout Sessions are held on Saturdays etween 10:00am-12:00pm at Crows Nest Park,
Dewsbury

Experience the Countryside with Experience Community

Experience Community enables disabled people to ride and ramble around the countryside of Yorkshire and the surrounding area, using adapted bikes and wheelchairs. Charges vary.

There is also gardening on Tuesdays between 11:00am and 3:00pm at the Civic Centre,
New Street,
Slaithwaite.
